Toromont Industries Ltd had an Earth Day Competition. They contacted me to make them an award for this event. This is what i made them.
My work can now be seen at La Petite Mort Gallery on Cumberland. The gallery is currently housing Achilles 323, and Untitled Warrior.
Back in 2005 i participated in a show at the Mercury Lounge, in Ottawa called Tag the System. The show began in New York as an homage to the variety of graffiti once found on NY subway cars. Each participant was given a blank toy car to do with as they chose.
I created the Subway Mole, brought it to the show, and never heard of it again. Eventually, i considered it lost. A few weeks ago i recieved an email from the owner of the Mercury Lounge mentioning that he still had it.
After a bit of prim and polish it’s ready to be displayed again. it’ll be at Metal Mayhem Madness 2 this weekend at the New Bayou.
To see other renditions of the Subway Car, check out this link from another cities’ Tag the System.
I put a video of the award in motion up on facebook. if you have an account click here.

Thanks to Geo for including me in the line up on http://botShots.blogspot.com. The site includes a selection of Christopher Conte’s work. I have been a fan of Christopher’s work since starting this website. It is an honour to be placed on any page near him.

Parkdale Gallery has unfortunately closed their doors. The gallery will be reopening sometime in May in a larger venue. Until then, bits of Rex are being creatively scattered around in an attempt to store even more into the house.

Once again i find myself noting a lack of posts. Life can be hectic, and my computer seems to fight me on every post. i will try to get at it more often. At the moment, I am finishing up a few extra awards from last year’s Ottawa International Animation Festival. there’s also a “King of Monsters” to finish up.
I’m thinking of taking the show on the road… perhaps Montreal. I’ve always enjoyed it there. I’m beginning the search for a suitable gallery that would take me. Any suggestions are always appreciated.
Halloween was amazing fun this year. I was given a pumpkin at work to be entered into a interdepartmental Jack-o-lantern competition. Seems my department won.
i’m thinking of doing this again next year. Anyone’s interested in custom cyborg Jack-o-Lanterns for next years Halloween, let me know. i can’t promise to have to many in stock as they have a shelf life, but if you give me notice i can have some ready.

Saturday, October 18th was Metal, Mayhem and Madness at the New Bayou. I had the Lumiere Lanterns on display, as well as two wearable art pieces. Thanks to the lovely Sheryl Ebring and Lysandra Ryan for making the Metal Armour and Wings look as amazing as they did.
