October is looking to be a pretty busy month. I’ve kinda booked myself solid. Here’s a bit of what’s coming up:
On October 2nd I will be teaching a workshop at the Patrick John Mills Gallery on Parkdale Ave, in Ottawa for the Awesome Indies Urban Arts Festival. The workshop will include the dismantling of a few of my favorite electronic devices, and discussions on construction techniques. I’d love to end up with a sculpture at the end of the night (we’re going to have to be quick). We might even light up the night sky with a little welding. Click on the banner for further info.
The Ottawa International Animation Festival happens from October 14 to the 18th. I have been commissioned to create the awards this year once again. I think i’m sticking with a similar shape to last years’. i was quite happy with the results. of course they can’t be exactly the same… perhaps these ones will even be… better. click on the poster to see their website.
After all that madness i seem to be designing flowers for a wedding… happens October 31st… Brides bouquet, Bridesmaid’s bouquet… i think the flowergirl is going to be holding one giant flower…. long extention cord trailing from it…. it’ll be adorable.
Got word tonight that there’s a possibility that January might be sheer madness…. tell ya later.

I’ll be bringing a gargoyle that will be lit with black lights, and decorated with florescent paint, as well as the Lumiere Dragon Lanterns. The festival starts just before dark, but really starts hopping after dark when the lanterns radiate. Hope to see everyone there.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by my booth at The New Arts Festival. What an amazing weekend. I’m now off to the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tennessee for a bit of R and R. I will be back on the June 18th. Before I go there is a small matter of a raffle that was held at the festival throughout the weekend. The raffled skateboarder has been won by…..
Matt Daigle
My works will start trickling into La Petite Mort Gallery in a few weeks. After that I’m creating a winged serpent that will be lit with black lights and decorated with florescent paint for the Lumiere Festival in August. Hope to see everyone there!

With The New Arts Festival being less than a week away (June 6th, and 7th) it’s time to send out a special thanks to Caroline Goulet. Caroline was able to use her amazing Tig welding skills to help me put some of the more difficult welds on the new skateboarders. She’s also convinced me that I need to invest in a Tig welder. Here are two more of those skateboarders.

The New Arts Festival is coming up fast. Here’s a picture of the skateboarder that’s being raffled off. Tickets are going to be $5, and can be picked up at my booth at the New Art Festival on either Saturday or Sunday. I’ll be drawing the winner after the festival is over.
