Thank you to everyone who stopped by my booth at The New Arts Festival.  What an amazing weekend.  I’m now off to the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tennessee for a bit of R and R.  I will be back on the June 18th.  Before I go there is a small matter of a raffle that was held at the festival throughout the weekend.  The raffled skateboarder has been won by…..

Matt Daigle

My works will start trickling into La Petite Mort Gallery in a few weeks.  After that I’m creating a winged serpent that will be lit with black lights and decorated with florescent paint for the Lumiere Festival in August.  Hope to see everyone there!

Here’s one more skateboarder.  That’s it for now… i’m done with skateboarding for a bit .  Hope to see you at the New Arts Festival Saturday and Sunday.

With The New Arts Festival being less than a week away (June 6th, and 7th) it’s time to send out a special thanks to Caroline Goulet.  Caroline was able to use her amazing Tig welding skills to help me put some of the more difficult welds on the new skateboarders.  She’s also convinced me that I need to invest in a Tig welder.  Here are two more of those skateboarders.

Toromont Industries Ltd had an Earth Day Competition.  They contacted me to make them an award for this event.  This is what i made them. earthday-award-026small1.jpg

My work can now be seen at La Petite Mort Gallery on Cumberland.  The gallery is currently housing Achilles 323, and Untitled Warrior.petitemort.JPG

What fantastic photography.  Looking at each of Jonathan Hobin’s photos brought back lines of tales I had not thought of in years.  Click on the Image to check out his website, or go check out the show.

Back in 2005 i participated in a show at the Mercury Lounge, in Ottawa called Tag the System.  The show began in New York as an homage to the variety of graffiti once found on NY subway cars.  Each participant was given a blank toy car to do with as they chose.

I created the Subway Mole, brought it to the show, and never heard of it again.  Eventually, i considered it lost.  A few weeks ago i recieved an email from the owner of the Mercury Lounge mentioning that he still had it.

After a bit of prim and polish it’s ready to be displayed again.  it’ll be at Metal Mayhem Madness 2 this weekend at the New Bayou. subway-mole-007.jpg

To see other renditions of the Subway Car, check out this link from another cities’ Tag the System.

I put a video of the award in motion up on facebook.  if you have an account click here.
