A few years ago I taught a workshop at a youth festival.  It was one of my most memorable experiences ever.  The kids that came to my table had such unbridled creativity.  It was inspiring.  I’m doing it again on Saturday, May 28th at The One World Awesome Arts Festival, in Jules Morin Park.  I’ll have a table full of metal scraps, and some tools on hand to help the kids make some sculptures of their own.  Click on the poster to check out the festival website.  Hope to see you there.

The Ottawa International Animation Festival has come and gone.  There was a countdown on the facebook fan page that came pretty close to the wire this year.

Since July 11th I have been fortunate enough to have worked on the Ottawa set of House at the End of the Street.   It has been a project of some great time and effort… and it was an amazing experience.

I’m about to start my third year of creating the Ottawa International Animation Festival Awards.  The festival runs from October 20th-24th this year.  Animator, Gary Schwartz will be making a stop animation short about the awards for presentation during the closing ceremonies.

As well as the 15 OIAF Awards, I’ve also been commissioned to do The National Film Board of Canada Public Prize, and The
Canadian Film Institute Award for Best Canadian Animation.  It’s going to be a busy few weeks.

Sometime in October I’m going to try taking a week off to play that new Transformers game… hmm… maybe November…
